Mini Biography:

Taylor Launter began studying karate at age 6, training at Fabiano’s Karate School, and by the following year, he was already winning tournaments. He was soon invited to train with seven-time world karate champion Mike Chat and, when he was 8, he was asked to represent his country in the 12 years and under division in the World Karate Association where he proved himself by becoming the Junior World Forms and Weapons champion, winning three gold medals. He continued to flourish in the martial arts circuit; in 2003, at only 11 years old, he was ranks number one in the world for NASKA’s Black Belt Open Forms, Musical Weapons, Traditional Weapons and Traditional Forms and and, by the age of 12, he had three Junior World Championships under his “black belt”.

Taylor began his acting career at age 7 when his martial arts instructor persuaded him to audition for a Burger King advert in Los Angeles. He was unsuccessful, but he enjoyed the experience and decided he wanted to pursue a career in acting. In the beginning, he and his family would travel from Michigan to California for Taylor to audition for acting roles on a regular basis, but it got to be too much and too expensive, that they made the choice to relocate to Los Angeles so Taylor could audition on a full-time basis.

Since moving to Los Angeles, Taylor booked roles on My Wife and Kids, Summerland, The Bernie Mac Show, The Nick & Jessica Variety Hour, Danny Phantom, What’s New, Scooby-Doo? and Charlie Brown.

In 2005, Taylor, age 13, landed the role of Shark Boy in the film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D. Shortly after, he then successfully auditioned to play Eliot in Cheaper By The Dozen 2.

In 2008, Taylor landed the role of Jacob Black in Twilight. After a hard workout schedule, he has been confirmed to play Jacob Black in the sequel, New Moon.
